Fixed-point poverty alleviation of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission

According to the annual report of poverty reduction and development, in 2013, in accordance with the important deployments on relevant ethnic affairs and the requirements of the “Outline for Development-oriented Poverty Reduction for China’s Rural Areas (2011-2020)”, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission (SEAC) made steady progress in the poverty alleviation and development in minority areas.
Continued to increase support for the two twinned poor areas to accelerate the stable and rapid development of the county economy and social undertakings.
1. Increased financial inputs. In 2013, SEAC invested 6.305 million yuan of relief funds to the two twined counties and launched 25 projects to support infrastructure construction, featured industries and minority villages, promoting the improvement of rural infrastructure and the development of featured industries in the two counties.
2. Held cadre trainings. In 2013, we organized 30 office cadres of the two counties to attend the training course on capacity building for poverty alleviation and development in the two counties to improve the quality and ability of local minority cadres.
3. Carried out in-depth field survey. Before the Spring Festival of 2013, we sent condolences to the poor in the two counties, brought condolence payments and goods to the local residents in deep poverty and delivered party’s warmth to the poor. Meanwhile, we held a forum to develop a plan for poverty reduction and development with the local masses and cadres. Relevant leaders of SEAC carried out in-depth field research on the development of minority tourism industry and the education and training of minority cadres in Yaozhuang Demonstration Village of Minority Prosperity in Du’an Town of Debao County, Dashuo Zhuang Nationality Village in Xidu Village of Chengguan Town and Nantun New Rural Construction Center of Yunti Village.
4. Continued to send cadres to poor areas. Sent two young cadres to guide the anti-poverty work in the twinned poor areas.
