The city of Sanmenxia, Henan province has reached a cooperative agreement with China Mobile's local branch and the Shanghai Fertile Lan Energy Saving Technology Co, on June 30, to help develop the city's agriculture with an Internet Plus strategy, which calls for cooperation in smart agriculture, equipment, big data and e-commerce.

The three partners are also expected to provide information sharing, training, consultation and construction service to bring a more dynamic, modern agriculture to the city, develop agro-e-commerce, and poverty-relief to rural areas to help raise farmers' incomes. Sanmenxia says it considers agriculture informatization important and has been pushing agro-e-commerce in recent years and was the province's first agriculture informatization pilot, after which it played a leading role in applying the internet of things (IOT) technology to agricultural production.

Fertile Lan Energy, which is involved in smart Wi-Fi network development, says that Sanmenxia is the first place for it to give its support to e-agriculture and will, which involves using Wi-Fi equipment, improve information infrastructure in rural areas.
