Overview

Cambodia

Cambodia’s per capita income remains low compared to its neighbors; however, the country is also one of the fastest growing economies in the region. Cambodia has achieved an average 7.8% annual GDP growth in the last decade (2005-2014) and was also an early achiever in 2009 of the MDG’s target of halving the proportion of people living in poverty. Taking the national poverty line, the country dramatically reduced poverty from 50.2% in 2004 to 17.7% in 2012.
